The Michigan Department of Education (MDE), Office of Special Education (OSE) has recently released a web-based resource that provides access to policy and regulatory information in one centralized location.
The Michigan Special Education Reference (MI-SER) is a research tool provided to special education directors, school administrators, teachers and other service providers, parents, and parent support groups who need information regarding special education quickly and in a searchable format.
The MI-SER provides users with immediate access to special education resources such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) 34 CFR Part 300, Michigan laws, statutes, administrative rules, and procedural information through its electronic table of contents and a powerful word and phrase search engine. Information is displayed in a uniform, electronic format for ease of use.
To access the MI-SER, visit the OSE website at www.michigan.gov/ose-eis and follow the link under the Resources and Related Information section.
